The Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage is encouraging the public to register to vote and update their details online. Registering to vote is now possible year-round and 16 and 17 year olds can now pre-register online.

To register to vote, you must be eligible and included on the electoral register for the area in which you live. Your nationality determines which electoral events you can vote in.

To register or update your details online, you can visit the Check the Register of Electors website. You will need your Personal Public Service (PPS) number to register. If you do not have a PPS number, you can still register by visiting a Garda station with your identification and forms.

The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming referendums is February 20, 2024. Make sure your voice is heard and register to vote today!
