Delhi Commission For Women Chief Swati Maliwal Takes Jibe At Sunita Kejriwals Post After Bibhav Kumar Bail

Delhi Commission for Women Chief Swati Maliwal Takes Jibe at Sunita Kejriwal's Post After Bibhav Kumar Bail

Maliwal Questions Kejriwal's Silence on Kumar's Alleged Sexual Harassment Case

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal poked fun at Sunita Kejriwal's social media post after Bibhav Kumar, a former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) corporator, was granted bail in a sexual harassment case.

In a tweet, Maliwal shared a screenshot of Sunita Kejriwal's post, which read, "Proud of you and your courage!" and added, "What a joke! Arvind Kejriwal ji, your wife is proud of the accused in a sexual harassment case?"

Kejriwal Yet to Comment on Kumar's Bail

Notably, Arvind Kejriwal has not yet issued any public statement on Kumar's bail, despite the fact that the allegations against the former AAP corporator are serious.

The DCW had initiated an investigation into the case after a woman accused Kumar of sexual harassment in June 2022. The commission had subsequently submitted a report to the Delhi Police, recommending Kumar's arrest.

Kumar was arrested by the Delhi Police in July 2022 and was granted bail by a Delhi court on January 4, 2023. The court has scheduled the next hearing for February 13, 2023.

Maliwal Condemns Kejriwal's Silence

Maliwal expressed strong condemnation of Kejriwal's silence on the matter, stating that it demonstrates a lack of sensitivity towards women's safety.

"This is a matter of shame," Maliwal said. "The Chief Minister of Delhi is not saying a word about a serious sexual harassment case. What message is he sending to women?"

Maliwal's comments have sparked a debate on social media, with many users expressing support for her stance and criticizing Kejriwal's silence on the issue.
